I thought this film was brilliant. It hits every single '80s cliche. Magnum PI, Commando, Predator, Miami Vice, any jean claude van damme film u name, terminator... the list just goes on. I will admit i do like my s****e films but that shouldn't put you off. Anyone over the age of 35 or so will find enough pop culture references to keep them at least chuckling throughout the film if not outright laughing. Definatly worth a watch and one of the more amusing films i've seen. Even down to the little touches like solar panels in 1986 and film posters that didn't come out till 2-3 yrs after when it's supposed to be set. (spoiler) I loved the way the kid managed to set a trap for the ninja in the time it took said ninja to walk up the stairs. The only film i can think of that was better for this whole schlock type thing was Iron Sky 2. The Coming Race.

Amazing. As long as you check your expectations in at the door.
Stupid fun!
You gotta love a film whose tagline is "50% commando, 50% ninja, 100% American".
The 1980's has produced some of the "greatest" classic action films, "Commando Ninja" simply continues this tradition with "great" dialog, "fast-paced" action scenes, "top-notch" special effect, an "intelligent" plot and lots of explosions, decapitations, amputations and severed arteries.
I bet Stallone and Schwarzenneger must feel a little envious for not being part of this cinematographic masterpiece.
And best of all, it has been dubbed!
Commando Ninja is the best thing I've seen in a long while. Kudos to the Freench for making one of the best American Action films!
A lost and forgotten 80s action movie masterpiece
Commando Ninja is a weird hybrid action movie of any 80s pop culture references that you can think of and it hella beautiful not because it not only a good tribute to a glorious era fill with ninja, alien, dinosaur, robot.... but it also a proper movie franchise in the making cause after it end I really want to watch" Commando Ninja 2:The Wasteland right the f now. I give big props for the director and the cast for knows exactly what they are doing unlike those terrible and trying too hard to be funny 80s action movie knock-off out there Commando Ninja actually got a style of it own and it look so stunning and so 80s - like to the point that I thought it an actual movie and not a parody one plus the big battle at the mansion and the Red Ninja fight are damn near perfect. If there something I hate about this movie it must be the intentional horrible dubbing of some character
