CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD is an ultra dumb and juvenile teen comedy made during an era when Jim Carrey and the Farrelly Brothers were at the height of American comedy. I'm afraid this entire genre of film passed me by entirely, and CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD is today nothing more than time capsule of '90s fashions, tastes and hijinks. Carrot Top is no actor but has a certain kind of manic screen presence in a role originally written for Carrey. The rest is mindless but mildly watchable if you like that kind of stuff, with the random inclusion of Raquel Welch in support.

This Comedy Is Adjourned
Red-haired California beach slacker Scott "Carrot Top" Thompson (as Edison) is also an aspiring inventor. Alas, his inventions fail to generate any interest or income. Only a roommate is seen wearing Mr. Thompson's "anatomically correct fanny pack." Thompson befriends billionaire surfer Jack Warden (as Armand McMillan) and is surprisingly afforded the elderly man's $23 million empire. Disgruntled nephew Larry Miller (as Bradford McMillan) and sexy rival Raquel Welch (as Grace Kosik) conspire to take control of the business. Attractive "Melrose Place" TV series star Courtney Thorne-Smith (as Natalie Stockwell) gets to munch on "Carrot Top". Juvenile fans of the stand-up comic star might enjoy this movie.

"Wait...
...You left Melrose Place to do a movie with Carrot Top!?"
-Norm Macdonald to Courtney Thorne-Smith on the Conan O'Brien show in '97
Really can't sum up how bad this movie is better than that.
