Lesbian singing werewolf? Meh.

I felt like it was more of a promotion for a singer rather than a real movie about a werewolf. The acting wasn't bad overall but the effects were iffy at times. No real character development and what was the point of the rude housekeeper? Save your time and money for another film.

"Werewolves do terrible things"

Vegan pop singer Grey is struggling with her second album so her and her girlfriend go to the large, remote home of a former boy band star, now a record producer. During the course of their stay the creepy producer asks Grey "Do you want to be a predator or be prey?" and before you know it she's craving flesh and blood. This is a disappointing lycanthrope movie. The characters are all quite weak, Grey herself looks and seems rather dull as this mega pop star and her singing voice and rubbish songs soon become tiresome. I'm surprised she could even get a record deal! The werewolf make up is not impressive and the pace is fairly slow. There is a bit of girl on girl love making but it hardly spices things up. One of my favourite actors Michael Ironside has a small role but I can imagine he would have only taken a day or so to do his scenes. I watched the Horror Channel UK TV premiere of this, I certainly won't be giving it a repeat viewing.

A wolf in singer's clothing

Bloodthirsty: Grey is an Indie singer, her first album was successful but she worries about her follow up. She's stressed over her dreams of being a wolf killing prey and suffers from hallucinations , takes pills for it. A famous reclusive producer, Vaughan, contacts her offering to produce her new album at his remote studio in a forest. Vaughan is suspected of having killed a singer who was his wife years ago. Grey's girlfriend Charlie tries to dissuade her but Grey takes up Vaughan's offer. Things turn strange at the studio, Vaughan plays mind games with Grey, getting her to drop veganism and eat meat even to stop taking medication. What is now real and what are hallucinations. A gore filled disturbing film humans and animals hunted, their throats torn out, being eaten, sometimes while still alive. Vaughan literally brings out Grey's inner animal as well as her songwriting and singing talent, A new Grey emerges. A few plot twists enliven this enjoyable (if you're not too squeamish) horror film. Directed by Amelia Moses, written by Wendy Hill-Tout and Lowell Boland. On the Horror Channel. 7/10.
