See? Glovers never too old for this sh........

If you are reading the review, then you are aware that the film is called Bad Ass 2: Bad Assess, so you know that narrative, story, script, and comprehension are not the film makers main focus.

They know they have got Danny Glover as an agoraphobic, grumpy old man, and people of an age will just have Lethal Weapon flash before their eyes and go for it. Much like me.

Story wise, if you've seen any action film from the eighties, you will know, even before he opens his mouth, that the kid is going to get killed, and be the rationale for Trejo to do his death wish again.

It's not the best film in the world, but it's sincere in trying to hark back to the buddy action comedies of the eighties.

Glover is brilliant, and the scene where they gate crash the party is hilarious, and the ending has a great payoff to that film.

When a film really dwells on a scene involving a little girl wanting a secret room, you absolutely know that room will be used to effect come the end of the film.

It's ninety minutes if switch your brain off rubbish.

It's nothing brilliant, but you could do a heck of a lot worse.

More of the same - with extra Danny Glover

BAD ASSES is the sequel to the first low budget Danny Trejo movie, a smaller budgeted but in some ways more charming film than MACHETE. This time around Trejo is back, once more working as a vigilante against a sinister criminal organisation headlined by the more than welcome Andrew Divoff, of WISHMASTER fame. The good news is that this time around Danny Glover's along for the ride; he's extensively doubled in any of the action scenes, but still funny in the comedy. It's a low rent and familiar film, nothing particularly special about it, a pleasant time waster if you like the stars.

NEXT TIME I'LL BRING A DESSERT

Boxing instructor and prune juice junkie Frank (Danny Trejo) teams up with high sticking curmudgeon Bernie (Danny Glover) to avenge the death of a young drug dealing boxer. The plot is predictable. The film is filled with cliches and corny humor poking fun at old men.

This is a fun comedy/action film. Where else are you going to see Trejo playing Barbies?

Parental Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity. Sarah Dumont bra/panties and double majors.
