The acting was amazing and you can tell its a passion piece for all involved

One of the interesting aspects is it show people coming into addition by different means, not just you made bad choices etc.

Plot summary
BACK FORK is the story of an everyman, WAYLON, struggling to hold his life and family together after a heartbreaking tragedy. He and his wife, NIDA, barely recognize themselves, let alone each other. Their inability to continue on and to heal, leaves them hopeless. With the growing burden of the unanswered questions of why, and a heavy dose of self-blame, It's only a matter of time before Waylon turns to the magic of the pills to make the problems disappear. He finds a kindred spirit in his sister, RAYLENE, as he sleep walks through life with addiction. It's only a matter of time until Waylon finds himself at a crossroads. He learns that he's been asking the wrong question all along. The question isn't why, rather, where do I go from here? He's then able to see that we're all wounded animals. Sometimes we die, but sometimes we live.

Can I have one of your pills?
This is a small town USA oxycodone story. Waylon (Josh Stewart) has lost a daughter and doesn't like to talk about it all the time with his wife (A.J. Cook) so they split. Working at the lumber mill, Waylon sometimes has back pain and the next thing you know he is on the path to chasing the dragon. It is a slow burn drama with not much action. Seems almost everyone in town uses opioids.
The film attempts to be meaningful by using a river and a trapped trout symbolism. Well done, but a bit on the sad and boring side of entertainment.

This was a fine film bordering on great.
Great performance here by Josh Stewart.
This movie is really well done. Essentially a character study about how we can all take a deep dive after the loss of a child, Back Fork delivered on a lot of levels. The movie also delivered on cinematography , music and the acting by all involved was excellent. This one can touch the heartstrings too and there aren't that many movies out there that make me think about that.
Then come to find out Stewart wrote it and directed it also? Okay top notch. 9/10
