James Harris (Danny Dyer) is a paid assassin. He is hired by the Aberts brothers ( Martin and Gary Kemp) to kill Tony Boyd (Robert Cavanah) who reneged on a deal. After the deed is done (EARLY PLOT SPOILER) we discover his one night stand Chloe (Holly Weston) is Tony's daughter. She suspects the Alberts even though it looks like an act of passion. Chloe is determined to prove it, so the Alberts hire James to kill his girlfriend which he has trouble doing. The film devolves into a boring cat and mouse game.
The film has us rooting for a boring assassin and his drug using stripper girlfriend. I never cared for the characters. They weren't that well developed. Bad script.
Might work as a rental. A film you will forget shortly after you watch it.
Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Holly Weston, Daria Gabor, Nikki Lee)

KILL THE GIRL
Dyer is the best way to describe this...
Every now and again, people ought to be made to watch a film like this, just to recalibrate their sensitivities when watching other, better, decent films. Everyone's favourite diamond geezer Danny Dyer is ruthless motor-cycle hitman "Jamie" who carries out a hit on behalf of the brothers from Spandau Ballet. Snag is, the man he bumps off has a daughter "Chloe" (Holly Weston) for whom he falls. The Kemps need him to top her too, but he fakes that crime and when they find out, are not best pleased - more hits are ordered and even the seagulls might not be safe! It's tosh from start to finish, this - the acting - especially from Gary Kemp as the menacing kingpin in a Prada cardigan - is almost as woeful as the writing, such as that is. The earlier ending (I think there are at least two) needs to be watched - it's actually quite funny and it all led me to swear never to criticise another Jason Statham or Nicolas Cage film again...
Not as bad as reviews say
I really don't usually like Danny Dyer films that much but this is really not as bad as many of the other reviews would have you believe. Sure some of the acting is a bit iffy but the story isn't reply that bad!!! Now I have seen some really awful movies and I really can't in all honesty list this as one of them. As I said I don't usually like Danny's films - same character in every movie just plonked into different scenarios, however I found in this film that he actually could do a bit of acting. I hate not finishing a movie no matter how bad it is but Assassin wasn't one of them. The lady interest wasn't the best at acting but was OK. I was very disappointed in the Kemp brothers however, they are usually much better at acting but were rubbish in this movie. Could have been the direction or something I don't know but something was off. Honestly not as bad as is made out but not a fantastic movie either. If you don't really like low budget British movies then don't watch this but if you don't mind them then give it a go.
