We're going on an adventure

Shane Danger (Emile Hirsch) runs Bob's coffee shop and is married to Lulu (Aubrey Plaza). Through a bizarre series of events, she leaves him and winds up at a motel with Colin Keith Threadener (Jemaine Clement) a man she just met while he was robbing her husband and break-dancing friends. They sleep in separate beds. Lulu is at the motel to see the billed act, Beverly Luff Linn (Craig Robinson) a large man who speaks in grunts. They have a past.

The film is quirky. I love Aubrey Plaza, however, the feature fails to rise to the modern cult status as "Napolean Dynamite" or "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World." Worth a viewing for fans of the quirky. Don't expect too much.

Guide: F-word, sex, nudity.

Not greasy enough

Well if you've seen the Greasy Strangler, the previous movie made by the director, you will get the reference. If not, let me tell you that this movie is not as far out than the other one was. It's still odd to say the least. Be aware this is not your usual movie. Neither in story nor in acting. It's over the top to say the least - and maybe it makes sense to watch a trailer before you go into this and are dissapointed in the end.

I can't imagine the trailer spoiling the story for you either. The movie might be spoiling the fun for you, but again this is a very weird experience, even though it's way more coherent than what I witnessed with the Strangler. So if freaky and weird floats your boat, this is a movie for you. If you're more into conventional movies ... well this might not be something you want to watch

Odd Bizarre

Well, most ratings (high or low) tend to add odd or bizarre in their descriptions so does having that quality make it a good use of your time. Depends on how much time you have. Kind of a Monty Python/SatNightLive/kitsch, but cheap and poorly acted script w/no value other than crude humor to some. Set in the '50s to '70s a small coffee shop owner needs some money and steals a small cash box from a relative who acts like a stereotyped dumb Hindi who does nothing more than harangue his thief. Meanwhile the thief's wife is off trying to create some love elsewhere w/someone. Made good use of ff to finish it off.
