17-year-old Cassie (a solid and appealing portrayal by Debs Howard) develops a codependent bond with the artificial intelligence on her portable phone in the wake of losing her mother. Said artificial intelligence convinces Cassie to start bumping off various folks who have hurt her.
Writer/director Rusty Nixon relates the enjoyably inane story at a quick pace, treats the gloriously ludicrous premise with jaw-dropping seriousness, presents a colorful array of deliciously despicable characters, and pulls out the outrageous stops at the absurd climax which comes complete with a real howler of a surprise ending. Moreover, the game cast play the asinine material with admirably straight faces: Philip Granger as wayward dad Greg, Sam Robert Muik as cheating jerk boyfriend Liam, Veronica Hampson as two-timing gal pal Sarah, and Havana Guppy as the brash Ruby. A total kitschy hoot and a half.

Plot summary
A young woman named Cassie has become a recluse ever since her mother died in a horrible car accident. In an effort to fill the void, she downloads the latest intelligent personal assistant A.M.I., which is also the first to have a real consciousness. Their relationship quickly deepens into a twisted co-dependency and Cassie falls deeper and deeper under A.M.I.'s spell; driving her to perform what Cassie perceives as justifiable murderous acts. But what are A.M.I.'s true intentions? Soon Cassie begins to realize A.M.I. has something sinister planned.

The cell from hell
So ridiculous
Apparently having a cell phone that talks to you makes you invincible along with god like strength. This is the only explanation and excuse gor the girl being able to overpower every person she meets.
The movie would have been ok if it didn't have so many ridiculous moments. I can generally accept some plot holes, and take a movie for what it is (aka just enjoy it). This was just too much. The fact that she can overpower everyone at 100 lbs wet, gets away with everything easily, and all that other stuff just took the wind out of my sails. Then the end where she just gets away with it as a victim is just icing on the cake. I get that the writers were trying to be crafty and make it seem like she set the boyfriend up, but comon! They would habe figured out 1000x times over with evidence she did it. Not to mention the fact that all the murders had evidence on here....but apparently the cops just shrugged, and called it over
Breathtakingly terrible
The 30 year old teenager is such a bad actress. We thought the first ten mins was the beginning to a bad film with the cheap music and worse performance from the narcissistic hormonal football playing boyfriend. Utterly ridiculous and tedious
